An 81-year-old woman died in a hit and run Wednesday morning in Cleveland.
It happened just before 8 a.m. in the 17000 block of Lorain Avenue.
The preliminary investigation reveals that Maxine Lobins was walking with a walker in the street on the side of the roadway and was attempting to cross in the crosswalk when she was hit by a black van.
After hitting Lobins, the driver of the black van did not stop and continued eastbound on Lorain Avenue.
The victim was rushed to Fairview Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The official cause of death will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.
Cleveland police are now searching for the driver of the black van. Due to hitting the victim, the van has damage to the front end.
