Abou Kane, everyone knew him as Willie, was the owner of Well's clothing store on Kinsman on the city of Cleveland's east side. Willie's life was taken during a robbery attempt.
"The world has lost an incredible loving human being," his wife said.
Willie Kane was from Senegal in South Africa, spoke nine languages and was making a life for himself in Cleveland with his wife and two young children. But when two men entered his store and demanded money, that life was taken away. Willie chased them outside and he was shot, leaving a grieving wife and two young kids.
"They left my kids' fatherless, he has a mother who is not going to see her son anymore," his wife said.
The suspects, the men who took away this beloved husband, father, son and friend, remain on the loose. The Kane family is grieving all while trying to keep his spirit alive.
His wife said, "We want the community to know we are celebrating his life, and his legacy, and we want justice, we want people who know what happened to talk to police."
A fund has been set up for the family at Key Bank.
