All Ohio schools are about to get their first pay check thanks to the casinos. Part of the agreement to open casinos in the state of Ohio is they must hand over one-third of the profits to the State.
Fifty-one percent of the tax on gross casino revenue shall be distributed among all 88 counties.
The first allotments will be doled out at the end of the month. The money handed to schools is based on enrollment which means Cleveland city schools, the second largest in the state will take in $821,831.26.
