According to the Canton Repository, the Browns may have a new coach by Monday.

The team would like to interview Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer for a second time on Friday, according to the paper.

Zimmer was in town on Wednesday to talk with the Browns.

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt was in town on Thursday for a second interview with the Browns, according to the Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.

Whisenhunt was fired last Monday after going 45-51 with Arizona in six seasons.  He lead the Cardinals to a Super Bowl in 2008 where they lost to the Steelers.

The two of the past three seasons, the Cardinals offense finished 31st or 32nd.

Whisenhunt was the Browns special teams coach in 1999, his third year as an assistant in the NFL.

On the general manager front, the Canton Repository also is reporting the Browns will interview Ray Farmer, who was the Chiefs director of pro personnel.

The paper is also reporting Michael Lombardi will have a role with the team, possibly as an adviser to CEO Joe Banner.
