(WOIO) - The FDA has issued a recall of 492 bags of candy from an Ohio candy maker. The reason for the recall is because milk which is an ingredient is not listed on the label.
Earlier this week the Seville, Ohio based company, Island Delights Inc. recalled their Coconut Haystack candy.
Due to the fact that many people suffer from severe allergies, the Ohio Department of Agriculture found it necessary to take this step. Eating the candy could be harmful to the health of many people who consumed the product without the knowledge that it contained milk.
Types include Maple, Chocolate/Almond, Coffee and Almond Coconut Haystacks.
The company said that they have not received any complaints of adverse reactions or illness from the candy.
The recalled product could have been purchased from retail stores and through mail order in 2012 in the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, New York, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.
