Teacher accused of theft back in court this week

An Almira Elementary teacher's aid accused of stealing underwear and groceries is expected in court Wednesday.

Latrecha Rice, of Cleveland, entered a Marc's store in Rocky River, where a security guard busted her trying to take underwear, frozen foods and more then exit without paying.

Rice, who fought with store security after being caught, is accused of felony robbery charges.

The incident happened last month but the school district didn't know about it until 19 Action News called.

The district reportedly reassigned Rice because of her arrest.

Rice is out of the classroom, on paid leave, until the district sees how the case plays out.
