19 Action News is exposing a security breach in one local school district that puts students lives at risk.
John F. Kennedy High School has metal detectors and x ray machines at their front door but we discovered a side door that anybody can walk right into the halls of the high school.
We walk right by a teacher and make it all the way to the office until security stops us.
"Can you explain to me why this door is wide open and you don't have any security? You have metal detectors here but anybody can come in on the side door," asked 19 Action News Investigator Scott Taylor.
"Can you step to that door. I will find a Principal. Can you step to that door," asked the Security guard.
"OK we will be right there," stated Taylor.
Nobody would answer our questions at the school but within minutes after we entered the building the side door was locked and guards were posted.
District officials though agree with us. They say that door should always be locked and they are looking into if anybody contacted them before about the hole in their security at the school.
