Browns new head coach Rob Chudzinski is naming a starting quarterback for 2013 yet. Brandon Weeden, who started 15 games last season for the Browns could battle for the job in training camp.
"I think that's premature to say'' that Brandon Weeden will be the starting quarterback in 2013," Chudzinski said on Wednesday during a press conference to introduce new offensive coordinator Norv Turner.
"Until we all get together, we get this staff set, we get a chance to sit down and talk through personnel and everybody's on the same page with those things...you don't know even watching tape necessarily how guys are. Sometimes guys will get out there and get in the system, maybe it's a better fit, maybe you see some things that you didn't see from tape, whether it's game tape or practice tape. So you just never know," he said.
As for Turner's evaluation of Weeden, he said, "I think he has the skillset we're looking for. He does have a big arm. A lot of guys have had their best season when I was coaching them.''
Turner will call the plays for the upcoming season it was announced by Chudzinski. "Norv's been one of the best playcallers in the league for a long time," Chudzinski said.
