Judge Dan Gaul says the two women who helped Ashford Thompson after he murdered Twinsburg Police Officer Joshua Miktarian will get probation.

Judge Gaul says the law precludes him from sending them to prison. He said it was a "tough call."

On July 13, 2008, Danielle Roberson, 37, and Bridget Robinson, 27, attempted to conceal the whereabouts of Ashford Thompson, who was being sought by police for the murder of Officer Joshua Miktarian.

Thompson shot and killed Officer Miktarian on July 13, 2008, after the officer pulled Thompson over for playing loud music.

Roberson, who was Thompson's girlfriend, was in the suspect's vehicle at the time of the shooting. The two then fled to Robinson's home in Bedford Heights.

Robinson, the suspect's sister, and Thompson attempted to remove Thompson's handcuffs with Vaseline and a hair pic while Roberson attempted to conceal the firearm.

Robinson and Roberson were both arrested on May 1, 2012.

On January 9, 2013, Robinson and Roberson both pleaded guilty to one count each of attempted obstructing justice.

Thompson was sentenced to death for the murder, and is currently on death row.
