Cavs Lose Heartbreaker To Spurs

Cleveland (WOIO) - The Cavaliers gave the San Antonio Spurs all they could handle on Wednesday night, but one defensive lapse, at the worst possible time, cost 'em in the end, and the Spurs slipped out of town with a 96-95 win.

The Cavs took a two point lead on Dion Waiters' jumper with six seconds left, the final two of Waiters' team-high 20 points.  But that left too much time for the Spurs, and worse, the Cavs left Kawhi Leonard wide open in the corner for a three-point shot, and the San Antonio forward buried it to put the Spurs on top to stay.

The Cavaliers had one final shot, but Kyrie Irving, who was held to six points on the night, slipped and fell, getting off one final awkward shot in the process, and that was that.

The Cavs head into the All-Star break with a record of 16-37.
