Concrete arches added to bridge over Duck Creek Rd on Friday - Cleveland 19 News Cleveland, OH

Crews continue work on Kennedy Ave extension

Construction crews added a new piece to the extension of Kennedy Avenue on Friday.

Concrete arches were added to form a bridge over the Duck Creek. The arches are about 40 feet long, 10 feet tall and each weighs 60,000 pounds.

The bridge will allow traffic to cross Duck Creek and connect to a new section of Kennedy Avenue, as part of the Kennedy Connector Project.

Project officials say the new road will improve traffic flow and safety and provide new opportunities for economic development.

The $30 million Kennedy Connector Project began spring of 2012 and is expected to take nearly two years to complete.
