Blackhawks or Heat: Which Streak Is Better?

Cleveland (WOIO) - The Miami Heat went into Monday's game against the T-Wolves with a club-record 14 straight wins, and considering the opposition, seemed sure of extending that run to 15 straight. With LeBron playing at an MVP-level once again, there's no telling where and when the streak will actually end. But, is it possible, this is actually the 2nd best streak in sports these days?

Yes. Because what the Heat are doing is impressive, no doubt, but what the Chicago Blackhawks are doing is downright incredible. They haven't lost a game in regulation this season. We're talking 22 games. The Blackhawks have three overtime losses, for which they still earned a point, meaning they've racked up 41 of a possible 45 points this season.

Hockey is more of a team game than basketball. Yes, the Heat have D-Wade, Bosh, and other players who contribute significantly, but let's face it, it starts and ends with the MVP, because in the NBA, when you have a LeBron, Kobe, or Durant, you have a far better chance of winning the title. In the NHL, you can have the superstars, but it's the best team that wins championships. See: the L.A. Kings, who barely squeaked into the playoffs last season, and went on to win the Stanley Cup. That never happens in the NBA. There's simply more parity in hockey.

Both streaks are remarkable, and both should be enjoyed, and applauded. But one outweighs the other, and that honor belongs to the Blackhawks.
