Cavs could shut down Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving's right knee is still not 100%, which was news to coach Byron Scott until Thursday. The coach found out the lingering pain when he was reading post game reports after the win over Utah. Irving missed three games last week with a hyperextension.

Scott would not rule out shutting his All Star point guard down. The Cavs are 21-40. Losing Irving certainly would not hurt a playoff run, it could even help them acquire a better draft pick. Scott said he will talk with team's medical staff and Irving about the knee issue and would not rule out having him inactive even as soon as Friday's game against Memphis.

Irving was not made available for reporters.

Dion Waiters was back on the practice court after missing time do to an illness. He could play against Memphis. Omri Casspi is still out, but he was seen shooting free throws today.
