Like so many, I have a heavy heart. It's a bit surreal, working in media on a day like Monday, showing tragedy on the screen, while it hits so close to home.
You don't have to be from Boston, or NY on 9-11, or Newtown, to ache for the victims, but those of us who've spent so many Mondays celebrating the annual events of Patriots Day may feel it a little more today.
But I also know this: amidst the... chaos, and panic, there are countless heroes who always rise...emergency personnel, bystanders, people whose first thought is to help. Former Patriots and Browns lineman Joe Andruzzi, carrying victims to safety. It's uplifting. And a reminder that these gutless attackers, whatever their reasons and whatever their methods, will never truly win what they're fighting for.
