The teen accused of brutally killing his girlfriend's parents will face the death penalty.

The Summit County Prosecuting Attorney announced an indictment against Shawn E. Ford, Jr., 18. Ford is accused of murdering Jeffrey and Margaret Schobert in their New Franklin home on April 2, as well as assaulting the couple's daughter and his girlfriend, Chelsea, on March 23.

Ford is indicted with aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, grand theft, petty theft and felonious assault.

If convicted of aggravated murder, the prosecution will seek capital punishment.

"The murders of Jeffrey and Margaret Schobert were particularly brutal," said Prosecutor Walsh. "Shawn Ford is accused of killing two people, both of whom were, by all accounts, kind and generous people who treated him with the utmost respect. My office will see that justice is served for these horrific crimes."
