Still no ID for man found dead in Olmsted Township pond

OLMSTED TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - This peaceful, sun drenched pond looks so picture perfect on a spring day that it's hard to believe this was the place where police say a killer chose to dump a body.

The body so badly decomposed that nearly one week later investigators still haven't been able to figure out who this was.

All they know is he was an African American man, 20-40 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall, around 142 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

The pond is somewhat secluded located behind an old garage apartment.

"I just saw the body floating on top of the pond.  I came out and thought it was a mannequin," said Colin Garratt.

Police at first said there were no signs of foul play.

"We were able to determine it was a male victim, and the body is so badly decomposed, we couldn't even determine the age," said Chief John Minek with Olmsted Township Police.

Later some twisted details were released like the victim was stabbed to death, found with a rope tied around his waist with a piece of concrete and a steel pipe attached to it.  He was wearing three black bras and a Betty Boop half shirt, a light black hooded jacket and was naked from the waist down.

The owner of this property wouldn't go on camera but says he's been dealing with bad publicity ever since.

Morbid curiosity seekers just show up to look at the pond.  He says he can't wait for the killer to be behind bars.
