Two charged in Stow meth lab explosion

STOW, OH (WOIO) - Two men are charged following a meth lab explosion at a home in Stow.

It happened just before 8 p.m. at 1442 Mac Drive on April 17.

A 29-year-old Stow resident and a 28-year-old Middlefield resident were in the home at the time of the explosion. Both men were transported to Akron Children's Hospital Burn Unit for treatment

Det. Tom Gottas of the Stow Police Department Narcotics Unit responded to the scene along with members of the Summit County Drug Unit. The Drug Unit removed a large quantity of materials from the residence for evaluation.

As a result of the investigation, Brandon C. Davis and Stephen J. Scott are both being charged with illegal manufacture of drugs, illegal drug chemicals and aggravated arson.

Further charges may be pending as the investigation into the explosion is continuing.

Davis is out of the hospital, but Scott is still hospitalized.
