There were plenty of surprises in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night. What will the second and third rounds bring?
The most shocking thing was West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith sitting in the green room waiting to be picked, but never hearing his name called. Some draft experts thought Smith would be a top 10 on Thursday. However, on Friday the Jets finally picked Smith in the second round with the 39th overall pick.
Manti Te'o also was drafted in the second round. Te'o was drafted by the Chargers one pick before Geno Smith.
The Minnesota Vikings put together the steal of the night when they acquired a third first round pick from New England. The Vikings drafted defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, cornerback Xavier Rhodes and wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson.
As for the Browns, they currently don't have a second round pick because they selected wide receiver Josh Gordon in the supplemental draft last year.
Their first pick on Friday is the sixth pick in the third round, 68th overall. Some are predicting the Browns to stay on the defensive side of the ball and pick a cornerback. The Browns drafted LSU linebacker Barkevious Mingo with the sixth overall pick on Thursday.
