Coming into Saturday's fourth round the Browns had five picks at their disposal. One in each round, plus a bonus pick in the 7th round. They turned them into three players and two draft picks next year.
They traded their fourth round pick to Pittsburgh for a third round pick next season. The Steelers used the pick on Syracuse Shamarko Thomas. When time came for them to pick in the fifth round the Browns traded it to Indianapolis for a fourth round pick in next year's draft. The Colts selected Tennessee- Martin defensive tackle Montori Hughes.
In the sixth round the Browns resumed drafting, selecting Notre Dame safety Jamoris Slaughter. He missed most of last year with an Achiles tear.
The seventh round saw the Browns select two Divsion II school players. East Central Oklahoma defensive end Armonty Bryant. Bryant was arrested in October for selling marijuana to an undercover police officer during practice. Their second seventh round pick was used on Chadron State offensive lineman Garrett Gilkey.
