Tribe splits double-dip in KC

The Indians and Royals split a day-night double header on Sunday in Kansas City.

Justin Masterson was touched up for seven runs in the afternoon game as the Royals cruised to a 9-0 win. Alcides Escobar and Alex Gordon both hit home runs in the win. Jeremy Guthrie pitched into the seventh inning and did not allow a run, he improved to 3-0 on the season with the win.

In the second game the Indians turned the tables on KC, pounding them 10-3. Mike Aviles hit a three run homer and drove in five runs on the night. Carlos Santana had four hits and drove in a run. Corey Kluber threw seven innings allowing only two runs to earn the win.

The are 9-13 on the year, the two teams finish the wrap around series on Monday.
