SUMMIT COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - A number of meth labs busted in Summit County.
The Summit County Drug Unit was called to East State Street in Barberton last Friday morning regarding a meth lab. One person was arrested.
Later Friday, the Summit County Drug Unit responded to a meth dump site in the area of Rt. 619 and Eastern Road in New Franklin Township. The lab was discovered by a local business owner in a ditch on the side of the road.
On Sunday afternoon, the Summit County Drug Unit responded to a meth lab on West Turkeyfoot Lake Road in New Franklin Township. The owner of a rental property discovered the lab while checking on the condition of the property. The homeowner found the components of the lab and contacted law enforcement. Charges are pending on one suspect.
A short time later, the Summit County Drug Unit responded to a meth lab in Barberton at in the 400 block of Harding. The lab was located during a consent search of the property. One man and one woman suspect were taken into custody. The man suspect jumped out of an open window of the patrol car and fled on foot while handcuffed. A Barberton Police K-9 Unit located the suspect a short time later.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Monday morning, the Summit County Sheriff's Office spotted two males near a vehicle at the Avon Trailer Park in Green. Components of a meth lab were located after a search of the vehicle. Smoke was coming out of the trunk of the vehicle where the components were located.
Jessie Atkinson, 34, and Brian Cross, 39, were charged with Illegal Manufacture of Drugs.
