Cleveland Police and the Bomb Squad were called to two locations in Cleveland Monday afternoon.
Crews on the scene at E. 6th near Lakeside Avenue at the Federal building today at approximately 2:45 p.m. and removed an inert non-explosive device. The device was transported for further analysis.
During the incident, the Federal building was evacuated and several surrounding buildings were placed on lock down.
Then around 3:00pm, the Cleveland Division of Police Bomb Squad responded to the Walmart at Steelyard Commons for a suspicious unattended package.
The Walmart store was evacuated for safety reasons and traffic in the area was rerouted. The package was examined by the Bomb Technicians and determined to contain only personal effects.
The owner of the package was located and after an interview, he was arrested for Inducing Panic. This matter will be further investigated. The name of the arrested male will be released once it becomes available.
