10 police officers involved in last November's deadly police chase are getting paid to do nothing but hang at the gym.
Among them, Officer Michael Brelo. He alone fired 49 shots. He climbed onto a car police had chased. Since then, Brelo's been assigned to the police gym doing "non-sensitive work."
The officers were reportedly sent to the gym to clear their heads.
They are currently getting paid to be there four hours a day. The other four hours are for family time or seeing mental health doctors.
A police order shows officers get sent to the gym after traumatic incidents for up to 45 days.
10 are starting their sixth month. Three are assigned to desk jobs. We're told they still carry guns but can't work side jobs.
Chief Michael McGrath has said a mental health doctor decides when officers go back.
