It happened around 10:00 a.m.

The student, later identified as Addison Mcbrayer, was confronted by the Assistant Principal who asked what he had in the bag.  The 18-year-old responded that he had 25 pounds of plastic explosives.

He was immediately detained and turned over to Chagrin Falls police within a few minutes and according to jail records, has been charged with inducing panic

High School students were already outside in the stadium as part of a planned annual Springfest.

As a precautionary measure, the 7th and 8th graders were also evacuated.

At 12:30 p.m., all students were evacuated from the campus.

As an additional precaution, all events scheduled at the 7-12 campus were canceled for Friday evening. The building will be open from 4:00 - 6:00 Friday evening for students needing to collect personal items.

Visitors will only permitted to enter the Chagrin Falls Middle and High School through the main entrances of each building. They will then be escorted into the building.
As of Saturday, the 9-12 campus will be open for all scheduled activities.
