DALLAS- Kent State seniors Spencer Keith and Jake Dooley were named to the 2013 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, comprised of football players from all divisions who maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better throughout their college career. Both major contributors throughout their four seasons, Keith and Dooley were also named to the Academic All-MAC Team in January.
Keith earned numerous academic honors throughout his career. This past season, he was the lone quarterback selected to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Team. Keith is Kent State's career leader in completions (732) and passing yards (8,062), and ranks second in career touchdown passes (45).
Dooley led Kent State with 7.0 sacks this past season and was named to the All-MAC Team. He also ranked second on team in tackles for loss, raising his career total to 25.
Hampshire Honor Society members must be a starter or a significant contributor in one's last year of eligibility, achieve a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout entire course of undergraduate study and meet all NCAA-mandated progress towards degree requirements and graduation.
