Shots fired inside Lyndhurst AT&T store

LYNDHURST, OH (WOIO) -

 

Police Officers have released a composite sketch of the man wanted for an attempted robbery with shots fired at the AT&T store.

The robbery happened on Sunday, May 5 around 6:00 p.m. at the store located at 5076 Mayfield Road in Lyndhurst.

An employee called 9-1-1 saying the suspect had entered the store and brandished a gun.

The suspect was confronted by a second employee who threw a chair at him.

The suspect fired several shots however nobody was struck, then the second employee wrestled the suspect out the door where he fled southbound.

Numerous police officers and a K-9 unit searched the area, but the suspect was not located. 

No employees were injured during the incident.

An employee reported, to responding officers, that the suspect walked by the store approx. 90 minutes prior to the robbery and looked suspicious. 

The suspect's firearm and other evidence were recovered at the scene which was processed the Lyndhurst Police Detective Bureau.

Lyndhurst Police are asking that anyone who witnessed anything or anyone unusual around the time of the incident to call the Lyndhurst Police Department Detective Bureau at 440-442-1234.
