When Michelle Knight got out of the hospital Friday afternoon there was talk that she would be going to see Gina DeJesus and her family.

That never happened, but some of Michelle's family members did go to the DeJesus home.

"I'm feeling very excited to see her," said Deborah Knight.

Deborah Knight was hoping to meet with her granddaughter Michelle for the first time in more than a decade.

Michelle was on one of the women kidnapped, sexually assaulted and held captive for years inside a home on Cleveland's west side.

According to MetroHealth, Michelle Knight is in good spirits and would like the community to know that she is extremely grateful for the outpouring of flowers and gifts.

She is said to be especially thankful for the Cleveland Courage Fund, and asks that everyone please continue to respect her privacy at this time.

Deborah Knight was part of a small group bringing balloons and other gifts to Michelle and Gina. They went to the home of Gina DeJesus.

"We're here to support their family and we thought that maybe we could all get together as one family combined," said Deborah.

19 Action News has been collecting signatures on giant cards for all three women who survived a terrifying ordeal.

Friday afternoon, reporters Harry Boomer and Bill Safos delivered the cards to the families.
Safos has remained close to the DeJesus family and Amanda Berry's family ever since the girls disappeared.

Knight was released from the hospital around 1:30 p.m. on Friday. She is asking for privacy.

Knight, Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus were rescued from Ariel Castro's Seymour Avenue home on Monday. The women had been held against their will and sexually assaulted for years.

Berry went missing in 2003 a day shy of her 17th birthday. DeJesus disappeared as she walked home from school in 2004 at the age of 14. Knight went missing in 2002 at the age of 21.
