Cleveland (WOIO) - Josh Cribbs may be closing in on a new job, but at least one interested team has pulled back.
According to Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger, New York Jets general manager John Idzik said his team met with Cribbs last week and that Cribbs "isn't quite there yet". Cribbs had offseason surgery to repair a torn meniscus, and his recovery remains an obstacle in his pursuit to sign a deal.
The former Browns kick returner hopes to prove that his knee is prepared for another year on the gridiron. After a failed physical that possibly ruined his proposed deal with the Arizona Cardinals, Cribbs visited the Giants, Raiders, Lions and Jets.
