Man arrested in deadly shooting in Maple Heights

A man was arrested in last month's parking lot shooting in Cleveland.

Wednesday, May 15, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested David Luczak, 51, in Maple Heights.

Luczak is accused of shooting a man on April 23 in the parking lot of the Rainbow Terrace Apartments in Cleveland.

On May 4, the man who was shot died from the gunshot wound and Luczak was charged with murder.

The Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force identified that Luczak was driving a brown pick up with Pennsylvania license plates in the Libby Rd. and Warrensville Center area of Maple Heights.

After an extensive area search, officers identified Luczak in the passenger seat of the vehicle, apprehended the vehicle, and proceeded to arrest David Luczak without incident.

In a statement the U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said, "Time and time again violent criminals think they can run and hide from law enforcement. Once again the hard work of the men and women of the task force pays off with another victory for justice."
