Akron man arrested in deadly shooting

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - A 23-year-old Akron man was arrested in a deadly shooting.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night in the 500 block of Wildwood Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observed a man lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his torso. The victim was transported to Akron General Medical Center where he later died.

The victim's identity will not be released pending positive identification and family notifications.

The suspect, Kyle James Spy, was taken into custody without incident around 9 a.m. Friday morning on Cromwell Drive.

Spy was charged with murder and booked into the Summit County Jail. Spy had multiple traffic warrants also on file in the Akron Municipal Court.
