As we make our way toward the weekend, expect partly cloudy skies in the Upstate early, and mostly cloudy skies through western NC. Highs reach into the upper 70s to mid 80s, with cloud cover increasing as the day moves forward. Instability will be limited this afternoon in the Upstate, so expect a generally dry day with the possibility of a quick isolated shower. Mountain areas can expect a few scattered showers and a rumble of thunder as we head toward evening. The low pressure system off to our west will slowly move toward the Upstate on Saturday, bringing the next round of wet weather. Temperatures will hold off over the weekend in the mid to upper 70s. Expect mostly cloudy skies, and scattered showers beginning around midday Saturday. A few thunderstorms could roll through in the afternoon and evening hours, with much of the same expected for Sunday. As we head into the work week, we could see an isolated lingering shower in the mountains Monday, with otherwise partly cloudy skies and dry conditions. We remain dry through mid-week with temperatures back in the low to mid 80s.
