Cleveland (WOIO) - All good things must come to an end, and unfortunately, that includes win streaks. For the first time in six games, somebody found a way to slow down the Tribe, as the Tigers dealt 'em a 5-1 loss at Progressive Field on Tuesday night.
The Indians struck first, on Michael Brantley's sacrifice fly to right in the first, bringing home Michael Bourn.
But the next five belonged to the Tigers, thanks to home runs by Andy Dirks and Miguel Cabrera in the 6th, and RBI singles by Dirks and Prince Fielder in the 9th.
The win pulls the Tigers within a game and a half of the Indians in the American League Central.
Ubaldo Jimenez goes against Justin Verlander on Wednesday. The Indians are 7-1 against former Cy Young winners this season, including a win over Verlander in Detroit in early May.
