New York, NY (WOIO) - The Indians began their toughest road trip of the season on a low note on Monday, losing in more ways than one at Yankee Stadium...first a key player, then the game, 7-4.
Asdrubal Cabrera left the game in the fifth inning with what appeared to be a serious quad injury. The official word from the team was quad strain, although Cabrera will be re-evaluated on Tuesday.
His teammates tried to rally without him, as Carlos Santana's ground rule double tied the game at four in the fifth inning.
But Brett Gardner drove in two off Justin Masterson in the 6th, and then Travis Hafner celebrated his 36th birthday by going deep in the 7th, and the Tribe never recovered.
Mark Teixeira had taken Masterson deep for a grand slam in the third inning.
