Cleveland (WOIO) - Lonnie Chisenhall is back with the Indians, and he did it the old fashioned way...he earned it. The third baseman, demoted to Columbus on May 13, rediscovered his hitting stroke, hitting .390 (41-105) with 8 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs and 26RBI in 27 games for the Clippers (.455OB/.676SLG/1.132OPS).
Since May 29 he has hit .467 (28-60) with 8 2B, 2 3B, 2HR & 16 RBI in 16 games and hit .367 (18-49) with runners on base overall for Columbus. He hit in 16-straight games from May 17-June 7. Lonnie opened the season with Cleveland and hit .213 (20-94) with 4 2B, 3HR & 11 RBI in 26 games before his May 13 option to Triple-A.
To make room on the roster, the Indians optioned RHP Matt Langwell to Columbus.
