The wheels of justice continue to spin for Indians Closer Chris Perez.

He's facing a drug charge and a tough time getting back into the groove, on the mound.

Perez was scheduled for arraignment at the Rocky River Municipal Court Wednesday. Perez and his attorney were under no real obligation to show up at court and they did not. His attorney simply faxed in a not guilty plea and the next court date for Perez is set for July 9th --that's his pre trial hearing.

Perez and his wife are facing the drug charges after undercover agents delivered a package they say contained 5.7 ounces of marijuana to the Perez home in Rocky River.

Melanie Perez, who has also plead not guilty, accepted the package, that was sent from California. It was addressed to the family dog.

We checked with Rocky River Police and they say there is no new information in the investigation.

Perez, while dealing with his legal issues, is trying to come back from a strained rotator cuff. He's been on the disabled list since May 27th.

He pitched in a rehab assignment with the Akron Aeros last night and it did not go well.

Perez gave up three home runs, five runs overall on five hits and he even hit a batter in just one very eventful inning.

He was hoping to be back with the tribe on Friday. But after last night, we'll see.
