Cleveland (WOIO) - The Kansas City Royals were the hottest team in baseball. Until they got to Cleveland, that is. Another night, another rally, with Michael Brantley leading the way this time with two solo home runs, and the Indians take the series with a 6-3 win, their third straight series win.
The Royals jumped out first on Justin Masterson, with Elliott Johnson and David Lough both driving in runs, before the Tribe went to work.
Brantley launched his first home run in the fifth to put them on the board, and then they tacked on three more runs in the 6th, on Mike Aviles' RBI single, Carlos Santana's bases-loaded walk, and Brantley's sacrifice fly to left.
Aviles would add a sacrifice fly in the 7th, and Brantley closed out the scoring in the 8th with his second home run of the night.
Masterson went six-and-one-third innings, giving up two runs on nine hits, and striking out eight.
