Aggravated Arson Suspect Arrested


A woman has been indicted on arson charges after a fire broke out at a Wadsworth home in 2012 .

The Wadsworth Fire Department was dispatched to the home of  Jill Tucker around  3:22 a.m in October of 2012. Wadsworth Police officers was also on scene to render aid.

Ms. Tucker was the only occupant of the home present during the fire.

The Fire Department fought the fire for five hours with assistance of surrounding township fire departments.

Days after the smoke dissipated, the division of State Fire Marshal's office conducted a preliminary investigation as to the cause of fire.

A more thorough investigation followed soon after, in partnership with the Division of State Fire Marshal, and was spearheaded by Detective Markley of the Wadsworth Police Department.

Months after the investigation began,  the case was presented to the Medina County Grand Jury. 

In early June 2013, Jill Tucker was subsequently indicted by the Medina County Grand Jury for Aggravated Arson, a felony of the first degree.

On June 20, 2013 Wadsworth Police detectives arrested Tucker and transported her directly to the Medina County Jail, where she remains with a $250,000.00 bond.
