The Cleveland Heights mother accused of killing her infant daughter was in court on Tuesday morning.

Kareema Cooper pleaded not guilty. Her bond was set at half a million dollars.

On February 2, EMS transported Cooper's 7-week old infant to the hospital after receiving a call from Cooper, stating that the infant's lips had turned blue and that the baby was unresponsive.

The Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death a homicide, based on an overdose of Benadryl. The level of medication in the child's system would have been toxic in an adult.

19 Action News has learned that Cooper was the only caretaker of the child at the time.
