61-year-old man assaulted in Parma home invasion

PARMA, OH (WOIO) -

Parma Police responded to a call regarding a home invasion in the 2000 block of Grovewood on Wednesday, August 14 at 10:45 a.m.

The 61-year-old resident says that at 8:45 a.m., he heard a bit of commotion in his home and went to check it out.

The resident soon found himself face to face with two intruders, who led him into the garage where one of the men attempted to stab him.

Fortunately for the resident, he was not stabbed but did suffer a laceration to his hand.

Shortly afterwards, the resident lost consciousness and woke up two hours later to report the incident. When he awoke the perpetrators had already fled the scene and nothing was stolen.

Officers were not provided with an accurate description of the intruders.

The resident was taken to South West Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The Parma Police Department is currently conducting an investigation.
