Two Buckeyes suspended for opener

As expected, The Ohio State Buckeyes were ranked No. 2 in the preseason poll announced Saturday. Shortly afterward Head Coach Urban Meyer suspended two more players for the season opener August 31st against Buffalo.

Running back Rod Smith (Senior) and cornerback Bradley Roby will join Carlos Hyde, who will be serving a three game suspension after an alleged assault against a woman that did not result in charges.

According to Urban Meyer, Smith is being suspended due to a violation of team rules this past winter. Roby's situation will more than likely be an ongoing process.

"He'll be suspended one game just because there's an issue. I'll make a further determination once...I don't think it's done" says Meyer.

Roby is being punished because of his arrest last month on a misdemeanor assault charge in Bloomington, Indiana.
