Chief Kelly is scheduled for a pre-disciplinary hearing Wednesday, September 16 at 3:30 p.m.

Kelly joined the Division of Fire in 1982 as an apprentice. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1993 and later earned the rank of captain in 1997 before becoming battalion chief in 2001. Chief Kelly then served as the division’s assistant chief until December 3, 2013, when he was promoted to Chief of Fire.

Kelly’s retirement is effective September 21, 2015, after more than 30 years with the city.

He will take over the Fire Chief position in Olmsted Township.

When asked about the letter, Kelly told our Scott Taylor, "Right now, I have no comment."

Two others are also named in the investigation of alleged record-keeping violations.

Battalion Chief Sean DeCrane and Captain Patrick Corrigan were notified of the charges against them in July.
