Mayor Frank Jackson no-show at mayoral debate

This was never a debate.   It was suppose to be a Cleveland mayoral candidate forum, but only one candidate, Ken Lanci, showed up.

So, it turned into lunch with Ken.

Ken Lanci who is running for mayor of Cleveland says, "The residents of this community have a lot of questions and for some reason the mayor chooses not to answer them and meet with them.  This is not leadership."

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson is seeking a third term in office and the last 12 months have seen some rough spots.

The November police chase that left two people dead and more recently the embarrassment of Jackson's fire chief quitting after less than a year in office.

Now back to the candidates forum sponsored by the Ohio Communities United who was not happy that  the mayor was a no show.

Mariah Crenshaw of the Ohio Communities United says, "Mr. Lanci has graciously accepted, as you can see by his attendance here today.  We have not seen or heard from Mr. Jackson unfortunately."

The mayor did alert the media two days ago that he would not be at today's event but will debate Ken Lanci next month.

Medical Mutual of Ohio has confirmed that an employee sent 45 emails to the wrong person containing personal information for more than 6,000 of its Medicare Advantage customers.  According to a spokesperson for Med Mutual, based in Cleveland, this was an accident because the employee typed in an incorrect email address and the data was going to a third party that didn't have authorization to be looking at private information.
