Monsters announce 2013-2014 schedule

The American Hockey League announced the 2013-14 schedule this afternoon, which will see Cleveland's Lake Erie Monsters play the first of 38 home games on Friday, October 4th against the Abbotsford Heat at 7:30 p.m.  Of the team's 38 games at Quicken Loans Arena this coming season, 28 of those will be weekend dates, including 15 Friday night games and 11 on Saturday.

As part of the 76-game schedule format, the team will open and close the season at home, including playing five of their last six games of the regular season at The Q.  The Monsters will see five three-in-threes over the course of the season, including opening weekend. The team will also compete in 20 back-to-backs in 2013-14.

The home schedule features one doubleheader with the Cleveland Cavaliers; the Monsters will host their annual "School Day Game," presented by Castaway Bay, at 10:45 a.m. on February 25th, followed by the Cavs facing the Toronto Raptors at 7:00 p.m. The longest home stand of the season will be four games, twice (February 21st-26th; April 10th-15th).   The longest road trip will see seven games played from March 26th to April 6th.
