Troopers find Oxycodone pills, cash in passenger compartment

WOOD COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Two people from Kentucky are facing federal charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized Oxycodone pills and a couple thousand dollars in cash during a routine traffic stop Wednesday.

Troopers stopped a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze with Kentucky registration for a marked lanes violation on Interstate 75 near milepost 194 around 1:30 a.m. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle.

A probable cause search revealed 243 Oxycodone pills, along with $2,470 in cash in a plastic baggie wrapped in duct tape hidden in the passenger compartment. The pills have a street value of $6,000.

The driver, Rodricus D. Johnson, 27, and passenger, Brittany M. Wilson, 24, both of Frankfort, KY, were incarcerated in the Wood County Jail. They have both been charged with possession of and trafficking in drugs, which are second-degree felonies.
