BRECKSVILLE, OH (WOIO) -

Human remains were found by hikers in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Brecksville. The remains were found in a remote area off a trail within the last two days.

The FBI Evidence Response Team conducted a search of the park on Tuesday morning, and say the bones, which were found around 5 p.m. Monday, were part of a human skull and jaw.

19 Action News has learned women's clothing, including a bra, was also found.

The Summit County Medical Examiner is on scene to help identify the human remains.

An investigation is underway.

A cause of death is not known at this time. However, the case is being treated as a homicide until proven otherwise.

The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office says further forensic investigation is being performed and will require several weeks for final results.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park is a United States National Park that preserves and reclaims the rural landscape along the Cuyahoga River between Akron and Cleveland in Northeast Ohio.
