Indians whip White Sox again

Chicago (WOIO) - There aren't a lot of sure things in life, but picking the Indians over the White Sox is pretty close. For the 13th time in 15 meetings this season, the Tribe beat 'em again, winning a Friday matinee, 3-1 at U.S. Cellular Field.

Drew Stubbs opened the scoring with an RBI single in the fourth, and Ryan Raburn and Michael Brantley added RBI's in the fifth.

Those three runs would be enough, as Danny Salazar, despite being held to just three and two-thirds innings because of a limited pitch count, struck out nine and kept the White Sox off the board.

Paul Konerko would provide the Sox' lone run with an RBI single in the 5th.

The Indians used seven relievers to shut the White Sox down from there, including Chris Perez, who racked up his 24th save of the season.

The win leaves the Indians one game back in the Wild Card race.
