Carnegie Museum of Art is getting ready for the 2013 Carnegie International, Oct. 5-March 16, 2014. This major exhibition of new international art brings together 35 artists from 19 countries. There's also a playground, large-scale commissions throughout the museum. The International includes an ambitious reinstallation of the permanent collection of contemporary art that helped build the museum. Mark your calendar!
Next up at The Andy Warhol Museum is the first solo exhibition of Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, S/HE iS HER/E, through September 15. Two other exhibitions run simultaneously: Caldwell Linker: All Through the Night and Pittsburgh artist Nick Bubash: The Patron Saint of White Guys That Went Tribal and Other Works.
The Pittsburgh Glass Center presents Lifeforms by Various Artists, through Nov 17. The exhibition is inspired by the Rudolf and Leopold Blaschka glass biological models made in the 19th and 20th centuries for the Harvard University's Botanical Museum.
