COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

A Covington man was arraigned on federal charges alleging that he sold heroin to someone who died as a result of using the drug.

Timothy Tingle, 28, has been indicted by a federal grand jury with distribution of heroin resulting in death.  The indictment alleges that Tingle sold heroin last April in Kenton County, and that the person who purchased it died from an overdose as a result of using the heroin.

Tingle was arrested on Monday and pleaded not guilty to the charges during his initial appearance in federal court.

Tingle is currently being held in the Campbell County Jail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

If convicted, he faces a minimum of 20 years and up to life in prison, a maximum fine of $1 million and at least three years of supervised release.

His trial date has been set for November 25, 2013.
