Indians rally past Royals for critical victory

With Kansas City leading the Indians 3-0 in the 6th inning things did not feel good for Cleveland. Yordano Ventura had shut them down all night, until the 6th. The Tribe loaded the bases and Michael Brantley delivered a two-out RBI single to score Nick Swisher, and it got them started.

In the 7th they'd tie the game. Michael Bourn crushed a run scoring triple to right-center field scoring Yan Gomes cutting the lead to 3-2. Nick Swisher brought home Bourn with a sacrifice fly to left to tie the game.

In the 8th, they took a lead. With Drew Stubbs on second base,  Asdrubal Cabrera swatted a double over the head of left fielder Alex Gordon. Stubbs came home for a 4-3 lead. Bourn added insurance with a solo homer in the 9th.

Chris Perez slammed the door for his 25th save of the year in a drama-free 9th inning.

With Texas defeating Tampa 7-1, the Indians stay a half game back in the Wild Card race. They are a half game back of both the Rangers and Rays.
