Man shot to death at busy Akron intersection in front of Rally's

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

A man was shot to death at a busy intersection in Akron on Wednesday morning.

"A gentlemen who works at Rally's was on the bus and said a guy pulled up somebody pulled along side and shot him in the face," Jennifer Giebus.

The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office and the Akron Police Department are investigating the death of Alfonso Golden Jr., a 28-year-old male from in Akron.

Golden was shot at the intersection of Brown and East Waterloo in front of the Rally's Restaurant.

"I thought maybe it was fire crackers but then I thought no that sounded like gun shots," added Giebus.

The unidentified victim's Dodge Magnum was taken away on a tow truck where moments earlier he was stopped at the light at the corner of Waterloo and Brown when the suspect's vehicle pulled alongside and fired several shots into his car.  

The suspect fled westbound on East Waterloo Road in a tan SUV.  The victim was pronounced dead on scene at 9:10 a.m.

    Medical Mutual of Ohio has confirmed that an employee sent 45 emails to the wrong person containing personal information for more than 6,000 of its Medicare Advantage customers.  According to a spokesperson for Med Mutual, based in Cleveland, this was an accident because the employee typed in an incorrect email address and the data was going to a third party that didn't have authorization to be looking at private information.
